The Question That Changed How I See DevOps Forever 🤔🤔
Last year, I was mentoring a group of students learning about cloud and DevOps.
Everyone was focused on tools - Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins - all the buzzwords.
One quiet student asked,
“Sir, if everything is automated, what will humans do?”
That question hit me harder than any technical one.
I told him:
“Automation replaces actions, not intelligence.
Your job isn’t to deploy faster; it’s to decide why something should be deployed at all.”
He nodded and said,
“So DevOps isn’t about speed, it’s about clarity.”
That moment, I smiled.
He got it - the essence of DevOps in one line.
Technology will keep evolving.
But wisdom, empathy, and judgment - those will always need a human.
